Driving City Vehicles

All staff driving on City business:

  • CCSF Vehicle Use Policy – Defensive Driving Click Safety Training: Online course. Send an email to rpdehs@sfgov.org to request login, password, and username. All staff driving on City business, City or personal vehicle, must complete this training.  Any type of prior course in defensive driving does not supersede this course and it must still be taken if never taken before.  If the department requests that you take a refresher course in defensive driving theory, this training satisfies that requirement.  After completing the course, keep a copy of your completion certificate for your records. Do not submit a copy of the completion certificate to EHS as your RPD-U online training record will be updated from vendor completion records.

Vehicle Incident Retraining

  • For individuals involved in vehicle/equipment incidents requiring defensive driving retraining, staff may be instructed to complete an online 4-hour defensive driving training.  To register for this course, please complete this Staff Development Request Form and submit a paper copy to Environmental Health & Safety’s mailbox at the Annex or email a copy to REC-EHS@SFGov.Org, and email a copy to the Fleet Manager at REC-FleetServices@SFGov.Org.  Please note that completion of the Click Safety Training Course listed above does not satisfy the requirements for retraining after a vehicle/equipment incident. See the Incident Reporting page of the department intranet for additional information regarding incidents, including vehicle and equipment incidents.*NOTE: You will not be able to access the Incident Reporting page unless you are on RPD’s network.

GM Message

GM, Phil Ginsburg

“RPD University is our commitment to giving our team the tools and training we need to grow professionally, to keep current with best practices and new thinking, and to remain innovative and responsive as we serve the public. RPD-U provides skill development for our workforce to succeed and opportunities for personal growth. When each of us is exposed to different thinking and new ideas, we gain competence, perspective, and judgment—so that all of us benefit. I hope these learning opportunities and programs inspire and connect us to our profession, to each other, and to the park users we serve.”
— General Manager Phil Ginsburg
